Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Patients are admitted either to an open bay area or to individual self-contained rooms, according to their individual needs. Each bed is equipped with advanced monitoring equipment to cope with all types of emergency care.       

The nursing care provided in the Intensive Care Unit is on one-to-one basis and requires excellent skills in handling the computerized equipment that is utilized in this department. The clear glass panel of the individual rooms alerts the nurses of any irregularities, activities and generally allows them to monitor their patients’ conditions from the main console.

Prior to taking up their positions in the Intensive Care Unit, our nurses are ICU trained for several years. The special training program prepares them mentally to be emotionally stable and alert at all times, calm and detached enough to handle acutely stressful situations. Because they are literally involved in life and death situations, timing and the nurses’ ability to function in an efficient manner is critical.

Pendulum style fittings which conceal equipment and wiring gives the room a functional yet utilitarian look that is conducive to the well being of the patient.
